Asking the oracle:

Consider your question, and the key words that best phrase your thoughts.
Do this as a meditation. Open your mind to all possibilities.

Enter your question.
Hold the question in your mind
        as clearly as you are able.

How does it work?

Life is a combination of random processes and the unfolding of kamma - the two interact; a curious mix of coincidence and synchronicity. Was it 'meant' to be or was it just a cosmic accident?

The digital process is relatively simple. You enter a question, the key words relate to occurrences in the book (a bit like a web search) and you are given the result - a hexagram.

The direct relevance or pertinence of the result to the question can be endlessly (fruitlessly) discussed. If you have nothing more than curiosity, the result can at least be used as a stimulus for contemplation; this is basically what it is about anyway. Ask anyone a question, you get an answer - you are not obliged to follow their suggestion. The fact that you ask implies some confidence in the repository of possible answers - either the book or the person; and this book was put together by person(s).

Wisdom is inherent, innate in humans. Trust your intuition, your wisdom as you consider the text of your result.

THE COIN ORACLE:
  • 3 coins are thrown;
       each throw produces one line;
  • 'Heads' = yin = 2 = earth
  • 'Tails' = yang = 3 = heaven
  • 7 is a positive, (young) yang,
       line at rest.
  • 8 is a negative, (young) yin,
       line at rest.
  • 6 is a negative, (old) yin,
       moving line; -- x --
  • 9 is a positive, (old) yang,
       moving line; ---o---
  • Hexagrams are built
       from the bottom up.
  • Moving lines give
       a new hexagram:
       a yielding line develops from
       a strong line and v.v.
