GENERAL GUIDES AND PRINCIPLES
WHAT

I don't quite know what to put here but feel that some thought needs to be given to the broad parameters of this site.
There is no doubt that it is BUDDHIST but I wonder quite how to define that. There are so many flavours available but I hope that with a focus on children it can find space to include a variety of traditions. Having said that I think it is important to have some overall consistency - otherwise it just gets confusing (one of the most common emails I get through BuddhaMind is "There is so much information on Buddhism I can't work out what it is.") How to avoid this without getting overly sectarian? I don't know. Simplicity around doctrine and practice perhaps?
If you have had a look at BuddhaMind it will be very obvious that I am a Theravadin monk so this is where my experience and knowledge is mainly based.
Perhaps - to begin with - I will keep the lines open and just see what rolls in. I am open to suggestions. There is no doubt that I need help.

CONTENT

In terms of the 'doctrine and practice' side of the site:
Four Noble Truths
Impermanence

Generosity
Virtue - Morality - Five precepts
Kindness
Meditation
Non-attachment
etc. - In other words just simple, basic stuff.
This is far from a comprehensive list. Send me your suggestions.
