A Nepalese copper plate edict inscribed on both sides with about 20 lines aside of not very correctly copied but graceful Sanskrit. It is the permanent copy of a royal edict by King Adityamalla (c. 1300) probably distributed on palm leaves. The hole indicates the common custom of stringing several originals together with an iron ring.

Fine gold plates engraved on one side in Pali. The three lines detail aspects of the Abhidhamma and praise the Three Refuges of Buddha, Dhamma and Sanga. These plates were found sealed in a brick and are probably the earliest evidence (c. 5th CE) of Buddhist texts discovered in Burma.

Detail of a modern - 1880 - silver cover board for a set of Sri Lankan palm leaf scriptures. It depicts the Tooth Relic procession at Kandy.
