This 14th century walking Buddha is from Thailand. The left foot makes a footprint on the top surface of the lotus base. The left hand is in the abhaya mudra - the gesture of reasoning. The bump, the flame and spiralling hair can be clearly seen.

The Buddha spent most of his life in the Ganges Valley. During his life, and for centuries afterwards, monks spread his teachings across Asia to Nepal and Tibet.
