| The questions about belonging urge further investigation upon the part of the person asking. Travel well. As long as one defines letting go of attachment as letting go of belonging and having a home life then it is difficult. Take a look at how you automatically response and what ideas resist being open. Chaos belongs to itself does it not? Embracing chaos is letting go of a more traditional idea of stable belonging as nurturing; does it not? What if relationships were part of life instead of life being defined as relationship? To use an old metaphor, the half filled glass of water contains the same amount. Truth is always there ... it is a matter of eliminating stiff ideas in order to realize it. Does this make sense? To the creator of this site. I would like to challenge the visitors to my residence with a stereograph. Do I understand that it would not work if it were stenciled on a floor. What do you think? |

| Nice website. I've tried the email but it doesn't work. :( I am doing an assignment on "belonging" and I was wondering if I could discuss you? Here are some questions I thought of talking about: 1. What are your thoughts on the quote: "By building relationships, we create a source of love and personal pride. TO belong makes living in a chaotic easier." 2. What does belonging personally mean to you? Do you believe it to be nothing more than another attachment? 3. Why did you leave the home life? 4. A goal of a monk is to let go of attachments. However, do you still not feel a sense of belonging in the temple with the other monks, a sort of attachment? 5.Do you still sometimes long for your home life with its relationships (e.g. family, friends, etc.)? 6. Because of Buddhism, what insight have you earned regarding life and our continual desire to belong? Thank you for your time. |
